We straighten up nightly. Organize, put things away, empty the dishwasher, take out the trash.

We do a mini cleaning every Sunday. Dishes, counters, floors, laundry.

We do a big cleaning every 2 weeks. The above mentioned chores plus bathrooms, windows, dusting, and whatever else.

I’ve been trying to follow this daily schedule I pinned w/ the full break-down of the clean off this blog, but at 35wks preggers I must admit it hasn’t been easy.

ETA: I’m to the point that doing any more than 1 room a day puts me out on the couch for 2 days so this has been working considering my schedule & the fact that my body is to the point of hating me! lol

A little a day is SOOOO much easier than a whole afternoon. (what I keep telling myself.. lol)

@bakerella:  I’m currently watching “Clean House” off Netflix and I must admit it’s making me GOOD about my housekeeping! BWAHAHAHAHA!

As long as I’m not that bad I’m okay right?! lol

Our strategy is to run around frantically all weekend, trying to catch up. Then we watch Hoarders and feel better about ourselves. 🙂

@bakerella:  Add me to the terrible housecleaner list!  I hate cleaning and it therefore probably doesn’t get done often enough.

I live in a two story townhouse, so I divide it into 2 days. I have an upstairs cleaning day and a downstairs cleaning day. The upstairs consists of 2 bathrooms, 1 bedroom and 1 office. The downstairs consists of the living room, dining room and kitchen. I give laundry a day of its own.

@bakerella:  me too!

I do dishes daily and wipe down the counter tops whenever it starts to bother me.  For the island, proably 2x a week.  For the rest it that I dont do much on, probably 2x a month.  I send roomba on a vaccuum cycle 1-2x a week.  Then do a full vaccuum every other week?  And a wet mop once a month?   Bathroom wipe counter top every other week?   Laundry every 3 or 4 week, or when we start to run out of clothes.  Basically, a full on scrub clean happens when it starts to bother me which is probably once every 4-6 weeks.

bah, I LIKE to think I keep on top of things like dishes laundry etc.but Im currently eyeing up a pile of dishes,and an even bigger pile of laundry!The laundry thing bugs me,its not nice enough outside to dry clothes that way,and we dont have a tumbledryer so I have to use 3 small radiators,it takes at least all day to dry one load of washing.The dishes? I have no excuse,although Im trying my best to think of one lol

Wow…do I have problems?  I know I’m a clean freak but maybe overboard?

Every weekend I do all of our laundry for the week–a load of colors, a load of whites, a load of towels, a load of bed sheets.

Every Saturday morning I clean–that includes everything–bathrooms (toilets, counters, sinks and showers), mopping, vaccuuming, dusting, etc.  If I am busy on Saturdays, I make sure to do it on Friday night otherwise I can’t sleep.

Every night after dinner I do the dishes (we never leave ANY dishes in the sink), wipe the kitchen countertops down, clean the dog bowls, and then clean the kitchen sink with Lysol.

Every other day, I vaccuum/sweep if it needs it and wipe down the counters in the bathroom.

Am I a freak?  My Fiance always tells me I’m a clean freak but seriously, I didn’t realize I was that bad!

@future_mrs_sommer:

We’re more like you as well. Except the weekly cleanings of bathrooms are wipe downs with Lysol and vacuum + steam mop. Then once a month I amp it up to spraying the whole bathroom with Clorox.  Actually mopping all the floors then steam mopping.

Once a season we pull all furniture out and vacuum and dust from top to bottom.

I don’t consider ourselves clean freaks. 😀 We just like things tidy! hehe

Definitely have been slacking lately though due to working at the new house and this little thing called pregnancy! Hehe

@future_mrs_sommer:  There is nothing wrong with you… but I do think you should come to my house to help get some of that cleaning out of your system. tehe

Haha…I love to clean.  I seriously can’t sleep of things aren’t clean and in their place.  For awhile I thought I was going to have to get “help” for it but it isn’t really a problem as long as I make time for it.

regberadaisy–another thing, I think it’s sweet that your husband helps you around the house.  Unfortunately, the house is all on me.  It’s okay though because we live on property and have animals, gardens, etc. so the deal was when we moved there was that the inside of the house was my responsibility and the outside was his.  I actually think I got the easier end of the deal.  Ha.

Also, I can’t imagine being pregnant and trying to keep up with everything.  That has got to be hard.
