Americas test kitchen just picked Method Cleaning products as their best multi purpose cleaner. It cleaned the best and was non-toxic.

Also, if you question it you could wear a face mask and use products that tend to have fewer fumes, like comet, because its a powder and not a liquid spray that you know work and only use them on trouble spots.

I’m not pregnant- but I only use natural cleaning products… I love me som vinegar, baking soda, and lemon! The vinegar smell goes away after a few minutes when it dries, and it takes odors away.

I sprinkle some baking soda in the toilet and add vinegar and lemon  juice, let it bubble up a bit and scrub inside. The lemon adds a nice scent and the vinegar disinfects.

Make a paste with baking soda and vinegar and put on trouble spots and let it sit for 5 minutes and wipe clean.

I’ve heard that baking soda and peroxide are good for stains too. And I use a steam cleaner for the floors.

I’m not pregnant and I use Mrs. Meyers products as well as some method things and even a clorox Green Works spray. I also use vinegar from time to time:)

@Moja Milosc:  I think it works just fine. Sometimes I have to rinse a little bit more when I use the baking soda, since it sometimes leaves a slight residue… but sometimes, SOMETIMES I’ll break out a quick clorox wipe (so maybe I shouldn’t have said I only use natural products)

@Moja Milosc:  Can you switch chores with him so that he does that stuff that uses harsher chemicals and you do thinks like vacumming or mopping or dishes that dont involve as much close contact with harsh chemicals? I have scrubbed our tub once while I was pregnant and I used ajax powder cleaner (it is so much better than scrubbing bubbles and cheaper too) but since then I’ve tried to avoid using any bathroom cleaning products if possible.

I asked my midwife and she said although natural cleaning products are great for everyday cleaning (she recommended green works and method) she said that cleaning the bathroom, even with natural products, may be something I wanted to stay away from, since you’re still releasing mold and bacteria into the air when you’re cleaning.

I took it as a free pass!!!
