It’s definitely not a pre-programmed thing, that being said, you may just be on the high end of the spectrum in general and it needs a full cycle or two to establish your baseline.

I went through this with BBT charting – I run hot and so whenever I’d have a slight spike the predictor apps would say, “today’s the day!” and then have to adjust it back again when I’d get another slight spike before my true shift from ovulation.  It was frustrating, but once they adjusted my personal baseline it got a lot more accurate.

CestTresJolie14:  I never had O pains ever, not even when I knew exactly when it was happening (fertility treatments).  My doctor told me it’s best to aim for every other day to every 2 days all month long, that way, even if you’re off a little on your timing you’ve still got a good chance of hitting your window at least 2-3 days each month; plus it’s A LOT less stressful than trying for every day of your window.  Our successful cycle was with sex every other day.
