Hope you have a great weekend.
I am 4 weeks + 4 days today (possibly 4 weeks + 5 days). I used OPKs and temped, so am very confident of my dates. I am also pretty confident I ovulated on both sides as I had ovulation pain on both sides.
I took a Clearblue Digital plus weeks test this morning, expecting it to still say 2 – 3 weeks (since conception) as I’m between 4 and 5 weeks preggo. However, the test already says I am 3+ weeks since conception (so 5+ weeks pregnant).
Do you think the fact that my test is ahead of where it should be could possibly indicate twins? I did seem to have two separate instances of implantation bleeding (tiny peach bit of CM at 6DPO and then a small streak of red in my CM at 9DPO). I have also had period type cramps on both sides, on the left side first and then a few days later on the right. I’ve been generally feeling more nauseous than I expected for this early too (although haven’t actually been sick yet) and my boobs are already noticeably bigger.
I know I need to wait for my first ultrasound, but what do you think? Possible twins?!

HCG doesn’t really indicate twins this early on. I don’t think there’s really anyway to know until an ultrasound!

Ultrasound is the only way to know if you are having twins.

I had serial hcg blood draws. My numbers were very high, higher than a lot of twin pregnancies (according to beta base) and I have a singleton in there!

I had twins and didn’t experience any of the above. There’s no point speculating. Just wait and see!

My hcg was also on the high side, doubling every 27 hours on the three draws I had. Just a singleton! Only an ultrasound can tell you how many babes are floating around in there. Congrats on your pregnancy!

so I think i read that the digital goes to 3+ weeks once your hcg is over 2000. I think that’s pretty attainable for almost 5 weeks- there is a huge range in hgc and you are almost 5 weeks anyways . but a good sign the pregnancy is progressing anyways!

I am currently pregnant with twins and didn’t see any change in my early pregnancy tests – they weren’t even particularly dark lines at the beginning!
But, keep us posted (and congratulations!). Twin pregnancy is a roller coaster!

My friend was pregnant with twins and yes! This 100% happened to her. Congratulations!

Thanks bees! I’ll keep you posted.
I’ve got my first antenatal appointment on Wednesday when, all being well, I will be either 5 + 1 or 5 + 2. I don’t know whether they’ll do an ultrasound or not, but will update if they do and there is anything to see (as I know at just 5 weeks you may not see much of anything).
