I always do my OPK when I get home from work. From what I understand, LH peaks at around 2pm, so it’s best to test in the afternoon, but I test about 5:30pm because I don’t want to take them to work with me.

I’m new to all this, but I think 1 or 2 days “positive” is the norm. If you are getting a positive, all good! (Though it only confirms your body is ramping up to ovulate, not that it actually does.)

Afternoon urine is actually better for OPKs… Usually between 2 pm – 6 pm. The hormone usually starts to surge in the morning so it shows up best on tests in the afternoon.

2 months ago, I used OPKs and had the same situation… Positive one day (4 pm) and negative the next. So the last month I actually used the CB smiley and used it 3 times per day. My tests looked like this:

Monday (9 am/2 pm/ 6 pm): -/ -/ –

Tuesday: +/ +/ + pos all day, even with FMU

Wednesday: +/ -/ –

Psi I got positives two mornings in a row, but  positive at 2 pm on Tuesday and negative the next day. So if I was only checking in the afternoon, I would have gotten only one positive.

I asked something similar and it seems like a lot of people had similar situations, where they only get 1 positive opk (if taking the opk only 1x per day). And that means that the OPKs signals that you will probably be Oing within 12 hours. I thought it was more like Oing withing 36-48 hourss (meaning I thought I’d get a few days of positives). But it seems 1 opk/ Oing within 12 hrs seems pretty common.

Oh, and one opk is enough. It says your body is gearing up to ovulate. So that’s really all you need, and then BD for the next 3-4 days.
