I don’t think you’re being crazy or irrational at all!  Your wedding is just around the corner, the last thing you need is added stress from your vendors!  I would absolutely place a phone call to them.

I have been having the exact same problems with some of my vendors.  It’s extremely frustrating because it makes me feel like I’m the one being crazy!  But it’s not us!  If they truly wanted our business, they would be prompt in responding.  I understand that they’re busy and whatnot, but I have several vendors that will email or call me back within the hour of me contacting them.  Isn’t that their job?  I would absolutely make a phone call if you don’t hear back.  Especially with your wedding only being six weeks away.  And like the last girl said, the last thing you need is to stress over this!  : )

That would be frustrating! But it is right in the middle of peak wedding season, as well as holiday season, try not to jump to assumptions that they just don’t care. I would always be very cautious with going with family friends, most often the deal isn’t worth the frustration, many will not view you as a ‘real’ customer, and will feel its more them doing you a favour. Just take some breaths, and try to relax, and then phone or go into these places! face to face customers can’t be put off for too long, emails can slip through the cracks and be put on the back burner.

I definitely empathize. Some good advice I received was that sometimes we have to remember we aren’t the only brides. If some of your vendors are like mine they have been going non-stop since late March/early April. So every weekend there is a bride who takes precedent over every other bride because it is her week and she is probably freaking out. In a perfect world all these vendors would have knowledgable assistants, but many don’t.

Still, I am a stickler about communication. I, myself, have a 24-48 turnaround time for emails I pride myself on. Vendors I contacted who did not contact me back or took too long I immediately decided not to deal with. Now, If I haven’t heard from my secured vendors within 4 days (non-emergency) I email again asking, “I just wanted to make sure you received my email and it did not go into your junk……”. Works everytime as sometimes they just couldn’t stop what they were doing at the moment to reply right away.
