I am getting so frustrated! It makes me so envious when I read about all of the women who are TTC pinpoint the date/time that they ovulated.
I am religiously using OPKs and charting my cycles – and if it weren’t for FF telling me when it’s my FW, I would never know. I don’t have any O pains that I am aware of or have ever felt, I have never had any EWCM that I have ever noticed by wiping except once, over a year ago.
I am going to incorporate temping into the mix starting today. AF is supposed to be here on the 28th of this month, but I don’t trust her, she never shows up on time anyway. My cycles are very irregular.
According to FF I O’ed on the 12th. We BD on the 10th, 11th and 12th. I POAS on the 18th (6DPO) and again last night (10DPO). Both were BFN’s. I am sure I am testing too early. I will try again on the 28th if AF doesn’t rear her ugly head.
After 5 years of NTNP and 9.5 months TTC I am beginning to lose hope. I don’t really know what the purpose of this post is other than to tell you ladies I am so envious of how the majority of you know your body so well. I am trying to get where you are.
ETA: When I say “charting” I mean logging the dates that AF shows and when I get a positive OPK. I was not taking my temp previously.

@MrsRedPumps: I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time with TTC, but I’m glad you’ve made the decision to step up your charting! I think temping will really help you get a handle on what’s going on – you’ll be able to pinpoint when you actually do ovulate, or find out if you’re not ovulating and hopefully have some data to go get help. I would also suggest trying to check your cervical fluid internally – I hardly ever notice CM when I wipe, but it’s certainly there, I just have to quickly check at my cervix when I go to the bathroom. If I were just checking when I wipe, I’d think I never have EWCM – in reality, I have about a week of it before I ovulate.
Good luck! I hope more data will help you move things along!

@MrsRedPumps: Aww, don’t get frustrated, it’s all a process.
Honestly, I know it’s the opposite for some women but the OPKs make me a bit crazy and I don’t think they’re super helpful. I’m not sure if I plan to keep using them after I run out.
I also VERY rarely get EWCM that I can see from the outside. I check internally.
Temping, on the other hand, has been super amazing and really calming for me. I was worried I would have problems and it used to stress me out that my cycles were “irregular.” What I learned from temping is that they’re not really irregular, my O day just varies sometimes and when it’s delayed, my whole period is delayed because my LP is still the same.
We’re not TTC yet, so it’s possible there could still be some form of unforseen problems, but temping has been really helpful. Definitely feel free to pop into the Charters thread, it’s full of helpfull bees.
Good luck!

@SadieBee: Thanks for the encouragement! Hopefully I can kick this TTC time into high gear and really figure out what’s going on.

@MrsRedPumps: You should talk to your doctor! If you’ve been NTNP for five years, that counts as one year trying with no success. Really, NTNP and TTC are just terms used by people to differentiate charting/temping/OPK from just having sex. If you are having unprotected sex, that counts as “trying.” In five years, you probably hit your fertile window multiple times just by chance. Talk to your doctor and tell him/her about your concerns. Good luck and hope you get that BFP very soon!

@MrsAKSkier: Thanks for responding 🙂
I have taken my concerns to my doctor and so far this is what has been done.
– She prescribed me a daily pre-natal and recommended that I starting using an OTC supplement called pregnitude. I have been taking both daily since June.
– I have had a HSG to ensure no tubal blockage – no blockage noted
– I go in for a progesterone check on 12/12
– Had my cycle day 3 lab work completed – all came back in normal range
– The only negative that was found was a twisted cervix and I have slight PCOS (she stated that it was so slight that she was hesistant to even give me that diagnosis). I am not on any forms of medication for this either.
After the progesterone check, we have discussed using drugs to stimulate, but I am a little confused on this plan since I am in fact ovulating. I guess she knows best so I am going along with it for now.

@Mrs.LemonDrop: Thank you! I will definitely check out that thread. Seems like I have been doing myself an injustice by not temping all of this time.

@MrsRedPumps: Sounds like you’re on top on things. Maybe get your OH to get an SA done to. Just in case. I started with progesterone test and SA. Good luck.

@phoebephoebo: He is scheduled for Tuesday to go in. He feels awkward about it and refuses to let me go with him even though he’s been with me for all of my appointments. I am hoping things with him come back fine as well. Thanks for the well wishes!

@MrsRedPumps: Fx that all goes well. The only thing is, at least it’s quick and simple for the men.
