I loooove The Palm Bar and Grill on Clearwater beach. They have live music, good food and drinks, and the patio opens up right to the beach. I agree to Frenchys, there are several locations and the grouper sandwich is yum! If you want something a little nicer, I like Island Way Grill a lot too. As far as bars, I stay more inland, but Shepards is pretty fun. Ask anyone around theyll be able to point you too it. Have fun!

I don’t know if you’re wanting to stay exactly in Clearwater but Tarpon Springs is a fun touristy area that isn’t too far away. There’s sponge docks that do boat tours, lots of fun little shops, and some of the best greek food you’ll ever have (I recommend Hellas or Plakos).  Also in Tarpon Springs there’s a cute little tiki bar that does karaoke called SawGrass Tiki Bar- owners are super nice and the everyone always has a great time. There’s a good deli not far from Clearwater called The Lucky Dill- amazing sandwiches and free cheesecake! If you’re looking for some indoor fun during those summer thunderstorms check out the iceskating inside of Countryside Mall.

definitely frenchys! most people like frenchy’s rockaway b/c it’s on the beach, but my favorite is the original which is about 2 seconds from the beach and has the best fish spread, which rockaway doesn’t have on the menu. if you do go to lucky dill (which i also love) you have to get a drink to get that free cheesecake. i only like water so i never get to have it, but their desserts are so delish i’m ok with paying for mine. if you go to tampa you can go to adventure island, the water park, or bush gardens. also not near the beach is lennys. they have the best breakfast ever and they’re on 19. we also have a local italian place called capogna’s which is on gulf to bay. all these yummy restaurants are making me hungry!

There’s definitely a ton of things you can do!

I hadn’t seen Shephard’s on Clearwater Beach mentioned yet, but you should definitely check out that resort. There’s a tiki bar, a nightclub, a tasty (but can be pricey) restaurant… and *lots* of people watching. Sundays are their big party days & they had been doing $1 drinks… so that could be fun!

What part of town are you staying at?

My favorite Italian restaurant is located on SR 590 between US19 and McMullen Booth – Johnny’s!! It’s delicious, when I was away at school every time I would come home thats the first place I would go.  But I guess thats not really local fare — if you head down to St. Pete, in South Pasadena is a place called Ted Peter’s it was on Diners, Drive ins, and Dives the fish spread is good and the burgers are great!

Any of the Frenchy’s are good – usually The Original or Saltwater is your best bet for shorter to no wait time.  Rockaway (the one directly on the beach) has the largest menu.  I prefer the Palm Pavillion’s grouper sandwich to Frenchy’s Rockaway its huge!!

I heard there was a new bar that opened on Clearwater Beach (probably like a year ago now) but I don’t know what it is called or where it is.  I obviously don’t get out much…

Go to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium that Mrs Buttons wrote about here.  If you are staying on the beach it’s very close in Island Estates

I’m actually having our rehearsal dinner at the Palm Pavilion.  Frenchy’s is awesome, too, one of my favorite places to go when I’m out at the beach.  Their she-crab soup is to die for.
