My friend used to wear some when we would go out. They were the strip kind that clipped in behind her ears and went all the way across. You couldn’t really tell when she was wearing them, it just looked like she had really long hair.

I think a lot of it depends on the quality of the extensions you get (real hair vs fake), and how well the color matches.

Sorry I don’t know where she got them.

Sally’s is great because you can go in and feel them.  It’s probably worth the trip to see what’s out there and get educated. The longer you want them the more expensive they’ll be.

I did a quick search and found a bunch on amazon, though I’d be cautious buying them online (read reviews!). Seems like if they’re real hair, you can get a color close to your natural shade and dye them to match exactly. It’s probably worth the cost to have your hairdresser dye them for you. Good luck!

I am meeting with a MUH tomorrow and will follow up with her recommendation for brand of extensions! Real hair is a must though.

I’ll be wearing clip-ins as I’m going for a half-up do and need length and volume! I’ve used Lush extensions (from the UK, I live in the UAE, but they post internationally and take about 8-10days to arrive) I love them! Honestly, I’ve been swimming in mine, I curl them, straighten them, wash them…everything! Real human hair-they’re soft and shiny (actually in better condition than my over-processed hair ๐Ÿ™ I ordered a new set the other week from the deluxe range-they’re human hair, nice and thick and don’t go straggly at the end which I’ve seen a lot with extensions. You can send a pic of yourself and they’ll match your hair colour to their range. Anyway, I’ll stop harping on about them but seriously, these are the ones to go for, you won’t be dissapointed and they’re not that expensive

I have had both clip in and sew in extensions.  Use human hair and the best is remy/Indian 100%virgin hair.  I would also get straight clip ins because it’s easier to curl them and the curly ones just don’t curl the same way or in the “right” way natural hair does.

Personally I found that the hair that is sold pre-clipped is lower quality than the hair-only ones that it is simple to just sew on the cheap clips. Go in person to a hair store in your area and feel free to ask questions and you can see color in peson and touch it.

I have almost black hair, so I bought these (it comes in blonde, red, etc too http://www.bobbiboss.com/v2/w/tip/colorchart/http://www.bobbiboss.com/v2/w/product/view/?page=1&cls_code=2&brd_code=9&prd_code=76 It was $100ish a pack and I bought 2 packs.  I could have done w/ one and sewed my own clips $10.  If you want a layered look get two packs w/ two (slightly) diff lengths like 18″ and 20″ and have a hairdresser cut/blend it together for you.  Just clipping them in is going to look choppy and unnatural.

Here is me pre-extensions

and after; sew in and clip in’s in the front.  Clip ins are 16″ and sew in’s are 18″ and 20″

I have euronext clip ins from sally beauty I bought like….uhm….3-4 years ago? Still going strong…I can curl, flat iron even dye them. They were about $120.00 and I had my hair stylist shape them so they flowed better with my hair. good luck!

I bought clip-in hair extensions for my wedding! I bought them from http://www.donnabellahair.com at the recommendation from my hairdresser and they were around $100 for the set.  I chose the brown with honey blonde highlights but the blonde was a little too light and ashy so I brought them to my hair dresser and she put a toner on them to match the highlights of my own hair. Since their real hair and not synthetic you can do this.  The end result was awesome and I loved how it looked. I used the extensions mostly for volume but also for some length since I wanted a half up half down hairstyle.

@OnceUponATime:  Try Luxyhair.com extensions. I bought the 160 gram set and they are AMAZING!

Please, please skip the Sally’s extensions. I got a set in October and they are ok, but the Luxy’s are only $30 more and its 3x the amount of hair on each weft. I can also only wear the Sally’s extensions curly because you can see straight through them when my hair is straight. (and it looks terrible!)
