@RabbitBride:  I’ve never personally worn them, but am definitely considering wearing some on my wedding day. I have heard bad things about the Sally’s brand – they don’t stay nice as long as others.

I’m leaning towards foxy locks extensions (YouTube “foxylocks reviews”) they cost about the same as Sally’s but are supposedly much higher quality. Also on YouTube are a bunch of videos such as how to use them, style them, etc. 1 youtube person in particular is”saturdaynightsalrite”, and i know the foxylocks brand has a channel as well (btw, I am absolutely not affiliated with these brands or people in any way – I just love YouTube beauty videos, can you tell 😉 ?)

Make sure you get Remy hair (cuticle “lies flat”) not the so called “silky” hair.

Hopefully someone who had tried one or both of these brands can give some input on the best brand.

I wear them and love them.. They’re actually pretty easy to make.  You can just buy hair that is your color and the length that you want and sew the clips on yourself.  You can get them from any beauty supply store.

My recommendation is to find a smaller salon that sells the hair… I just googled it and found a great one close to me. The ones at Sally are around $180 and I find they don’t have enough strands for my hair… I have really thick hair and it just doesn’t look natural if I don’t have enough strands to make it blend well. At a smaller salon (an African American salon is best, where they sell wigs and actually put in extensions all the time) you can buy the hair and clips, as a PP mentioned for a way better price! I got a pack for my e photos for $60… I sewed in my own clips and had too much hair! They’re just as good quality… Maybe better! I will be saving them to wear at my wedding. Check out my engagement photo thread if you want to see them!

Human hair extensions are generally pricey (price depends on origin and virgin/processed and length). Try wigs.com.  if you sign up for their promotion emails they do a 20-30% off sale every 6-8 weeks.

I wore the brand sold at Sally’s and was happy with them although I spent nearly $400 because I need 3 packs! My hair is really thick and 1pack looked very unnatural. I still use them and its been almost 4 months. They are holding up well but they do tangle easily and I have to brush them out before every use. I think it was a worthy investment.
