What kind of graphics program are you using? There are a lot of folks on DeviantArt who put up free brushes and backgrounds and such for photoshop and paint shop pro. I’ve found a ton of great resources there that I’ve used for projects. 🙂

If you have an image in mind that you would like, take a look at etsy.com.  I tried the clipart/google images route and couldn’t find anything close to what I wanted.  I searched the image on etsy and ended up finding someone who I was able to purchase the picture from for about $4!

I don’t really know much about editing on a Mac since I’m a PC kind of gal, but I designed a bridal shower invite using just fonts and simple software.

My favorite for that project was the Swinging font (that makes up all of the flourishes) from dafont.com. I also like the Nymphette font on that site, which is also flourishes. The Flower Ornaments font is okay, but is pretty limited. I def agree that most flower art is cheesy. As lilacwire said, brushes from deviantart are amazing (and free)!

Here is the invite just for reference. Still needs to be cleaned up a bit tho.

Martha Stewart Weddings always has a ton of free clip art and patterns. 🙂

I’m using some of the Martha Stewart templates.. once you get the hang of how to use them they are quite cool
