I won’t be taking more Clomid because I’m stubborn. If the 50mg of Clomid didn’t get the job done then I will see a specialist about IUI or IVF. I’ve also been told that it’s bad for your liver.

I don’t have PCOS but I took my first round of 50mg this month and am not even sure I’ll do another 50mg round if this one doesn’t work. I had horrible side effects but its different for every woman. I will either look into a different drug or I’ll be saving to go to a fertility clinic. I’m not against clomid but at higher doses I really want to be monitored and my obgyn doesn’t do ultrasounds. There are plenty of success stories but I’m just a worrier. Best of luck.

I took clomid at 50mg for one cycle and 100mg for the next, both resulting in no O. I’m not against a higher dosage but omly want to do so if monitored under a specialist. So far, I have been takingnit under my gyn and there is limited monitoring. I didn’t have any adverse side effects though -at least not that I know of.

On my cell, sorry for any typos.

I’m in the middle of my first cycle with 50mg clomid.  I just found out from my Dr. yesterday that my blood drawn on CD 21 showed that I ovulated.  I am so relieved because I do not want to up my dose.  In general, I don’t like taking medicine and like to be as moderate with it as possible when it is necessary to take medicine.  But specific to Clomid, I had strong side effects from the drug – wild mood swings, hot flashes, etc.  I don’t want higher levels of that drug in my system if I can at all avoid it!

I can’t answer as to why others are reluctant to move to higher doses, but I did one round at 50mg and three rounds at 100mg. I’ll start another round next cycle at 50mg while doing IUI w/injectables. I did my first three rounds back to back, 4th round was about two months after the 3rd. It’s been about 6month since my last round. I expressed my concerns with the RE of the risks of cancer, etc. She said they are mostly associated with 12 months or more of consecutive cycles. It’s all your choice/preference. Only do what YOU are comfortable with.

I also took Clomid at night before bed to try and avoid any side affects like hot flashes. Worked for me. Everyone is different. Good luck.
