I am not on clomid but my very good friend is and has been for a while.  She was on for months and didn’t get pregnant.  Like you, she started ovulating with 50 (I believe) and I almost think she had to move to 100 before she got pregnant.  She unfortunately ended up miscarrying recently, but she is hopeful that since she has now gotten pregnant (been trying for over 18 months) that this dose is enough to get them there.  Sorry I am not more clear with dosages and things, since I haven’t been on it, I am not too familiar with the way each round works, etc. I just know what she has described to me.

Has your SO had a SA?

I had 6 rounds and none were successful. You should do no more than 6 bc of the risk it’s puts on your lining being too thin.

@thesaurus rex:  Definitely talk to your doctor, but an HSG might be a good idea.  Good luck to you! I know how hard it is to be ovulating and just not having it happen (I am in the same boat).

Seems like a low dose, but if everything else is in good shape and you are producing good follies, it shouldn’t matter much. My RE starts on 50mg and by the 2nd month moves you up to 100mg. I did 50 mg, then 100mg, before finding out my remaining tube was damaged so I needed IVF. I think you should have an HSG to make sure your tubes are clear!

@thesaurus rex:  I responded well at 50…produced 3 follies each time, but no success.  We are moving to IVF after this, but that is partly because of DH’s age.

@thesaurus rex:  I’m sorry you are going through all this. I’ve been there (now pregnant with IVF baby) for almost two years. Went through many tests, ultrasounds, clomid, surgeries, then finally IVF. It was honestly the worst two years of my life because the stress was almost too much to take. My Darling Husband and I felt like we were in limbo and had a trying time with our marriage and happiness. Now we are on top of the world since getting the news that we are finally pregnant. I can totally relate to your post above and I remember like it was yesterday those horrible Clomid side effects! I cried at work while on Clomid (for no reason) and my boss witnessed my meltdown! It was just awful. Hang in there and please know that you will get through this. I promise. It is all worth it in the end!!! PM me if you want to chat/vent or anything else. 🙂

Edit: Also, if you are interested look for the infertility thread under the ttc section. Lots of great women and loads of support!! 🙂
