Wow. You make me feel like the biggest slacker in the world. I just hit the 3 MONTH mark yesterday and today I talked to my photographer to officially book him and talk about the wedding via Skype tomorrow (although he’s been a family friend for a few years and already “knew” he was photographing our wedding), havent yet designed invites, nor officially “booked” our ceremony venue (it’s our local church and they have very lenient ways of booking, just write a letter a couple months in advance and you’re good to go). So you are definitely ahead of the game by my standards! Fantastic job!

We’re a year and 2 weeks away (Sept 14 2013 wedding) and so far we’ve booked the ceremony and reception venues. our photographer and videographer. All of this was done back in June/July though and since then we’ve just been relaxing a bit. I think we’ll be getting more into the planning as the 10 month mark hits or so. There is plenty of time and we don’t want to make decisions now that we might regret later.

Well I have been planning an Engagement Party. I will not know until this week that my date is official. Due to the church. I have spoken with photographers and met with our venue people. I know who all I am choosing I am just waiting for the ok and it is killing me. Engagement Party will be fun though. We are going to have all of those close to us like 60 people. We were so happy and everything became so real when we recieved our first e-party gift. I am super excited.

We don’t live where we are getting married (our families do) so planning is going to be crammed into long weekend trips. Last week was our first one and it was pretty successful – we booked our venue and day of coordinator. I ordered our Save the Dates yesterday, those will go out late October/early November.

I’m currently talking to caterers and we are going to have tastings in October. I’ve started reaching out to some local bridal salons to see if any carry the dresses I’m eyeing online.

Photographer is up next! I’d love to have engagement pics done but I don’t know how we’ll squeeze it in with a photographer up north. Maybe we’ll go with a different local photographer, but I’d really love to do a session with whoever we hire so we can get comfortable with them before the wedding.

@jd2012:  Same with me!!! We have done venue and wedding planner on the past few trips. I tried on dresses too but ended up finding one where I live and am buying it used. Try to schedule engagement pictures when you’re in town for the holidays or something! I am interviewing a few photographers when I’m in town this weekend. We aren’t doing engagement pictures with them though, it’s really not necessary. A good photographer will be good on your wedding day no matter what! May I ask, why are you sending out save the dates so early? I thought 6-8 months was customary?

so excited one year to go! we have venue tagged down, caterer possibility- it’s basically for sure, unless someone else has book them already. photographer *its a coworker, and shes taking engagement photo’s its just convincing her she is an amazing photographer, and she needs to take the wedding photo’s as well.* card box completed, save the dates done, center piece ideas thought out, guest list, and seating chart *sample 1* all done, so basically the high money things are left, and waiting to get the money to do those things. oh colors and wedding party picked out as well… need to finalize the officiant, I have too many pastors that I like and want to do it. gotta start getting things lined up though, and I think flowers are going to be next so I can see what seasonal flowers can be used, and what they look like together.

Eeeeee its coming around so fast! I think we’ll go out to dinner on our ‘1 year out’ date just to do something nice!

We have.. venue, church and photographer. I’ve already got quotes for caterers and I have my budget spreadsheet perfected! I’ve also been buying coffee in beautiful jars so I can take them home and use them for centrepieces! Oh yes, and I’ve booked our honeymoon, too. Can get flights on the 8th November so I’ll snap them up quick so I get the best deal 🙂

The dress is next…

We’re finally thinking of sending out Save-The-Date Cards as well. I think we’ll be sending them in January, to give those who are out of town enough time to make arrangements if needed.

We’re also very close to finalizing our wedding party, which is exciting because I can’t wait to ask them!
