I bought my CD stash using Kawaii Charcoal Bamboo (http://www.theluvyourbaby.com/new-mom-label-minky-bamboo-charcoal-os/), and my LO is now about 8.5lbs (I don’t have an exact weight as I used my bathroom scale by weighing holding her and then weighing just myself), she was 7.5lbs at the midwife appointment last week, so 8.5 sounds about right. So I’ve decided to try using them now. They are just SO bulky on her right now. I don’t have NB inserts, so I’ve folded the insert at the back, because I’ve been told that is where they should be folded for girls. Any suggestions on making a trimmer fit, should I be worried that they are so bulky in the bum (which will inevitably effect her position while laying down), or should it be fine. Should I wait until she’s put on some more weight and try again?

AW what a cutie!
I had the same issue with all in one & pocket diapers. I had a small baby, and just found those diapers to be way too big on such a tiny baby. I used prefolds and covers instead (and ended up liking them more!).
Wish I had better advice, but that was my experience as well!

I’m going to try for a couple of changes and reevaluate.

We are having the same issue. We are using prefolds and covers and the lady at the store suggested folding them down in front for a boy which seems better. Originally we were just letting them stick right out of the cover which looked ridiculous. Our LO is so small (6lbs), I am worried about how bulky they are too – doesn’t seem very comfortable but they don’t seem to bother him at all. In the end, our Mother-In-Law decided to pay for a diaper service for us for a few weeks and they have preemie prefolds which I hope will fit better.
