@firsttimemom:  This may not be the “right’ way to do it but I have Ragbabes, GroVia, BGs and FB. I put my BGs and FBs in the dryer on medium/low heat and they are usually dry in 1 cycle.  Also, I dont have a line but I occasionally will air dry the covers and throw just the inserts in the dryer.  I hand the covers on one of those drying racks we have.  I have no stripped my diapers and I haven’t had a problem with the absorbency at all.  I’ve been using the FB and BG for over 4 months now.

The drying rack is like this.

@dchokiebride3: Thanks for the reply! So drying them on the delicate / low setting is fine. **Runs to turn up dryer setting** Thanks! Since you’re using the BG / FB – how many times did you prewash them? Will one time be okay or do you think the “suggested” 3-5 times is best? Thanks!

It’s probably best to do it more like 3 times, but I only did it once.  But I can say they are a lot more absorbent now than they were before! 🙂

@firsttimemom: All our CD’s go in the dry on the delicate/low heat cycle! It only takes one cycle. We have a mixture of CD’s including FB and BG 4.0, all with snaps. I have not had an absorbancy problem (aside from a detergent issue early on, but nothing since switching) and I only washed my diapers once before the first use. The only time I sun mine is if there are stains…we don’t get sun or have a cloths line, so I have to either lay them in the driveway or take them to my parents, so in the dryer they go. Easy and no problems.

I will be using thirsties covers with prefolds inserts, it’s a lot cheaper than the AI1s.

Is anyone else using the diaper cover/prefolds method?

Also, I’m working on my registry, how many diaper covers will I need in each size (1 and 2). I know I’ll need about 2 dozen prefolds right? I plan to do diaper laundry every two days hopefully.

@miss-spunkin: I’ve never used prefolds but I did use fitteds with covers a lot and now use them at night only.  For full time cover usage, I found 5 covers (in each size) was perfect.

I think I caught the bug full blown… I may or may not have signed up for email notifications on 3 or more CD websites to alert me when this beauty comes back in stock:

I cannot wait. Anyone else get super excited about poo catchers?

Is that the Charlie Banana diaper?  🙂  Did you check amazon and target?

ETA: Nevermind, looks like it’s out of stock at target. 🙂

@dchokiebride3: Yes! It is the Charlie Banana and I tried target, amazon, all the manufacturers CB listed, and even did a google search and clicked on all the links to see if any of them had it.

@miss-spunkin:  I will be using prefolds and diaper covers.  I found that I really like the booroi cover because it has snaps instead of velcro.  I am also going to get some all in ones, but heard they do take a long time to dry.

Anyone know of any other sites to buy used cloth diapers at other than craigslist and diaperswappers?

@miss-spunkin:  I’ve found that 4 diaper covers suit us pretty well.   And 2 dozen prefolds should be a good amount.  I wouldn’t leave a prefold on my LO overnight since the wet cloth on their skin could give a rash, we’ve found bumgenius or some sort of microfiber/stay dry liner best for night time to wick away the moisture.  But for the first couple of weeks we had to change her regularly at night because she was a poop machine, luckily for our sleep that stopped.

@Lolasmomma: I’d try Fluff Swappers on facebook. Also if you are into a certain brand lots of the brand pages on facebook will have swaps under their discussions tab.
