The best thing that helped me understand cloth diapers and how they worked was to go on youtube and watch video reviews.  People would show how the components went together and talk about what they like/dislike about it.

There is a great book by Kelley Wels called Changing Diapers that I would recommend for one stop shop.

Some stores also offer cloth diapering 101 workshops with baby doll trials and all. They show you how to use them and what the difference is between all the diffent ones plus how to clean the different styles. Im still lost as well but I havent taken a workshop yet since we still have time before we TTC.

There is a blog called something like the cloth diaper whisperer. I saw a link from someone and remember the name. Also, younghouselife did a few detailed cloth diapering posts that may help, just search their site.

I asked similar questions in the thread below. As for brands, I’ve heard from moms I know who cloth diaper that it depends on the baby and that I should consider renting a multipack (there are websites that do this) for the first month of normal cloth diapering (after newborn with umbilical cord phase… which is only a few weeks) to decide what I like. One of these moms has two kids and what was best for one was not best for the other.

I’m going to rent newbron diapers and then I’ll probably start with some BumGenius All-in-Ones and some Flips and see how it goes from there.

YouTube is a WEALTH of information. Also http://www.pinstripesandpolkadots.com/ Their diaper basic section is awesome.

We use pockets diapers. We have 3 types, BumGenius 4.0s (by far the favorite), FuzziBunz One Size (my least favorite) and some from Assunta Store(similar to BG 4.0, like them too. http://www.assuntastore.com/).

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. 🙂
