today my boyfriend and I bought my engagement ring and wedding band ! We had been looking for the right one ( also for the right price) and agreed that he could just buy me a bigger nicer ring later on. I actually fell in love with a cluster ring ( didn’t matter to me if it was one big diamond or many) I seriously cried when I put it on. But I’m worried people will be rude and snobby and say that he’s cheap etc because it’s not one big diamond… thoughts ?

It’s beautiful! Don’t worry what people have to say. If you love it that’s all that matters. You’re the one wearing it on the daily basis not them!

People are always going to have an opinion but it’s your choice to listen to them. People will make comments whether it’s the biggest rock on the block orthe smallest dainty ring they see. Ignore them.
Your ring is so so pretty and looks wonderful on you! Enjoy it and be proud of it. 🙂

You chose this together. If someone dares to call your boyfriend (fiance?) cheap, they’re insulting you as well. I would pretend to be totally over the top upset and tell them “*I* chose this ring” and see them fidget in awkwardness. 😛
Or everyone would think it’s beautiful like many of us, including I, here seems to think so! 🙂

Thank you all so much !! I love it whole heartedly and can’t wait to finally have it when we get engaged ( in November when we go home to see family )

I really dont typically like clusters… But your ring is probably the exception to that. Its lovely and looks beautiful. On a different wedding board someone had posted they were told that the OPs FH was cheap because he couldn’t afford a single stone. Just know some people are assholes and what kind of ring you have wont change that.. Ive gotten crap because my ring is a white sapphire and not a diamond.
Just cherish your ring because you picked it out together and it was chosen with love. And screw what everyone else thinks!

Worrying about what people will think is a terrible way to go through life.

There will always be rude people. Some people hate solitaires, some hate halos, some hate clusters..blah, blah, blah so in the end it really doesn’t matter a jot. We wear what we love. We don’t wear what we choose for anyone else but us. If your ring made you so happy that you cried well then, sounds like you chose the right one.
I think it looks lovely on your hand. Congrats to you and your fiance.

That ring is absolutely gorgeous!

Your ring is beautiful, I love the setting. Cluster rings sparkle like crazy and who doesn’t love sparkle! Who care what anyone else thinks or says, anyone being derogatory about anyone else’s engagement ring are just showing up their own bad manners.

I agree to the post above!
A lot of people think of clusters as a way to pass off for one huge rock (yes there are some designs that are trying too hard and stink but.) Clusters in my eyes are a perfect way to get maximum sparkle under almost any light for minimum $ – what’s so bad about that?! Where I come from it’s something you’ll find in almost every jewellery store because people like the finger coverage but they don’t have all the moneys.
You can obviously tell you love it, so do we, so wear it confidently and if someone does comment, you just stay kind and make sure they know how much you love it – like pp mentioned, in the end it will only tell you more about the other person. 🙂

jemgirl18 : your ring is gorgeous! If people call your ring “cheap” they are pretentious assholes and you shouldn’t talk to them. The cluster rings are the “fancy” rings where I live, I don’t know anyone irl with a solitaire over .5ct.
