I don’t really get those sayin’ those “but that cluster does not look like a cluster = good thing”-things! It is not always the point? Some just like the look of a cluster!
I personally think most rings has their charm, and a cluster can look incredably beautiful regardless of it looking cluster like or if it looked more like a big stone. I have always had a soft spot for clusters. Especially flower formations! *drool*! Clusters sparkle like mad!!! What’s there not to like? I had no idea about “cluster hate” before joining the bee, and I was very surprised about all the negativity!
My personal guess is that the hate for clusters may very well steem from solitaire owners that put very much pride in the expensive diamond that they could afford to buy, and got to show off, but then got “outblinged” and “outsized” by girls who had put significantly less money towards their ring, and that the dirty talk started from there!
People seem to have a hard time with others getting “just as nice” but for less! You see this all the time everywhere. There is no rational reason for anyone to hate a style of ring that much?! I think clusters can be intimidating for some, and it seems like non-cluster-owners seem, in many cases, not to want clusters to get “accepted” as “just as nice”. I guess because people tend to want to feel superior and they want people who “paid less” to KNOW that theirs wwill never be “anywhere near as good”.
I am not saying that everyone should or ever will like clusters, that will never happen, just like everyone is not loving solitaires. I am just saying that no one would be “looking down” at clusters if they would cost as much as solitaires. It is just a different look. That happens to be very beautiful and full of sparkle!
I may be all wrong but that is my guess!
Your ring looks amazing btw, like so many other clusters! Don’t let anyone tell you it is less in any way!

I love your ring! For me it depends on the style and how it is made. So yeah there are certain clusters that don’t do it for me but yours is absolutely beautiful!

I’m not a fan of clusters just because it would bug the hell out of me if I lost a small stone out of it I prefer 1 solid stone which you get with a solitaire but your ring is very pretty on your finger

Cluster and a halo here LOL! people are just catty, it’s the meaning behind the ring that matters, not the size or the price. Having a $10,000 ring isn’t going to make anyone happier or a marriage better than someone with a $10 ring.

wildxalaska : you are spot on there!!! I have a halo and it is because it is the most beautiful ring….for me, not because i get more finger coverage or because i wish i had a bigger diamond……my diamond is exactly what i wanted and its halo setting is exactly what i wanted…..end of story…..

Gorgeous….love your ring. I have seen plenty hate for clusters on here. Never knew until I came upon this site. I just got a set that I picked out without a budget. Was for my anniversary. I personally love intricate an unique pieces. Solitaires would never suit me alone. All that matters is you two love it. Here’s mine.

mamabear2121 : Opinions are like but holes, everyone has one….. Having said that, don’t fell insecure about your ring, its beautiful and if you love it, that is all that matters. There are plently of people with 2 carat rings whose marriages won’t last a year. The ring is not a measure of his love for you. Rock your ring with pride.. Beautiful!
