@Scintillante:  Hey Nikky, I actually have the same ring 🙂 I love it for all the same reasons you stated. I’m just curious how you decided on a wedding band since it doesn’t come with one.

I really liked it in person and the photo they give online doesn’t do it justice.

I’m not sure if you would consider mine a cluster ring or not, but I love it.  It has a .62 center oval with .5 small diamonds around it.  You could do something like that to save money, going with a small center stone, but bigger than the surrounding stones.

@futureJNS:  Cluster rings are OKAY, if there aren’t that many diamonds. I also think they are fine for a RHR. I don’t love them for an engagement ring, just not my style. I think I would prefer one smaller diamond. If you were to go cluster I prefer a plain/simple band, and the cluster ONLY be where the center stone would be. Not too many small stones.

@futureJNS:  my fiancé bought me this e

Ring and we had to return it because a diamond cracked and a diamond fell out! It snagged on everything and it was a huge ring and I loved it and miss it he ended up spending more money on a better quality diamond but a smaller carat and I have to admit I’m not 100% happy with it.

I’m sure OP has already decided on her ring, but I just wanted to jump in and defend cluster rings. I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you love it, do it!

I wanted an art deco engagement ring, and when we got engaged and went to an estate jewelry shop, this was the one and only ring I fell in love with:

I love everything about it – and I was surprised because I never wanted a ring so big! I love how it sparkles, how it looks up close, how it looks from the side (it reminds me of the Chrysler Building), and especially how it looks from far away.

Far away pic (from my wedding):

I much prefer the look of one bigger stone, but I think cluster rings are a great way to get a lot of bling for much less money!

Personally, I think moissanite or Asha are much better ways of getting more sparkle for your money. If this is why you are considering a cluster ring, I think it is a poor choice because they are only convincing from very far away. However, if you just like the look in general, I think it’s great for you even though it’s not my style.

I love cluster rings.. though I don’t really like the style you chose.  It’s a matter of personal preference. IMO looks like “too much cluster”. I mean, like you can’t even focuse on one single detail of the ring.. Have you tried it on? If you did, and you feel it looked good, then go for it.

These are the some of the styles I love for cluster rings:

I think some cluster rings are done in a very classy way, although I never even thought about getting one for my Engagement Ring because my 1.30 carat round diamond was a gift from my Mother-In-Law. I recently purchased a cluster ring with fancy yellow & white diamonds in a very popular setting: halo & split shanks! I think this could make a very beautiful E-ring!

Sorry I don’t know how to shrink the size of my photos…

@CorkyB:  Hey! So cool we have the same ring!! And we love it 😉 It looks great on your finger.

I have to tell you that I did some slight alterations to mine (from People’s). First, I changed the band to a wider band with no tapering to give it a different look. I also changed the band to platinum because white gold turns yellowish pretty quickly on my hands. I also had the jeweler remove part of the filigree where the heart forms. I prefer it opened as it is easier to clean and I wasn’t crazy about the hearts. Here are some picks of the profile. As for the wedding band, I happen to love a gap between the rings so I went for an eternity wedding band. It’s a nice vintage look and it gives good finger coverage.

Let me know what you end up choosing!

    some people are quite harsh…

personaly its your opinion that matters. Ive seen a few that I didnt even realize were cluster rings. Personaly Im not a fa of the 4 square diamonds together but thats because Im weird about symetry.
