i think it depends on your group of friends…Mr. Meowerson would be bored to tears at a shower.

my mom and sisters are planning my shower.  the only thing i said i wanted was it to be “co-ed” and be called a wedding shower, NOT a bridal shower.

I really don’t know what they are planning because 1) it is so far away, and 2) my mom wants to keep everything a secret.  But I’m really hoping we do “the Newlywed game”  because we were suppose to do that for my sister, but we ran out of time.

@star_shine: oh i meant like i’m not sure how the other guys would feel about attending…not necessarily Mr. Star Shine.  you should do a man registry!

@star_shine: the last wedding i went to had one of these…basically a separate registry just for the groom that had tools and video games stuff on it.

As soon as I found out my Maid/Matron of Honor was planning a shower for me, I requested that it be co-ed. I hate being the center of attention so I want Fiance there with me, and I don’t have a lot of girl friends so I’ll be more comfortable if it’s mostly couples and family.

Our friends had a co-ed shower and they did a Western BBQ theme to make it more appealing to the menfolk. Beer also helps. 🙂

My cousin threw a co-ed shower for my brother and SIL. It was very informal and relaxed. We had a cookout and it was all outside. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it fits my family. I guess part of what made it work was that the gifts were all outdoors related. They got stuff for a garden and lawn care and camping. But once again, that’s just my family.
