- Wedding: September 2015
I have an odd situation. This is our second marriage and we are having a small wedding at noon. Following the ceremony, we will have a buffet lunch for our guests. Our parents are older and do not drink, therefore, out of respect for them, we are not serving alcohol. Which brings up my question. Our venue has a small bar connected to it and we would like to have a champagne toast and drinks with the guests who would like to participate following the luncheon/reception. It gives our parents and any other guests a way out if they are uncomfortable. BTW, we are not having a send off. I’m thinking on the directions underneath the reception information, we could include something about this cocktail hour. Is that tacky? I thought something like, “For those interested, please join us for a cocktail hour and champagne toast following the reception”. What do you think? Any suggestions?
