We are having a set up very similar to yours…station dinners (asian, carving, mashed potato bar)…our cocktail hour is going to feature the domestic cheese and fruit display, crab dip display, 3 types of meatballs (passed), and tomato bisque shooters with grilled cheese wedge (passed).  Our family is very traditional, meat and potatoes type people as well…but I’m throwing them a few curve balls – the tomato soup shooters and sushi on the asian station.

I voted fruit & cheese, spinach & feta stuffed mushrooms, crab cakes, and grilled cheese/tomato soup.  But if it’s an option, I would swap out the mushrooms for some kind of protein.  Chicken satay with peanut sauce is a crowd pleaser.

I love the tomato soup and grilled cheese shooter idea, but my friend had some sort of soup shooter at her wedding and it wasn’t as easy to “shoot” as it seemed. So that is something I would take into consideration.

We are doing a few of those as well. I am a chef and Fiance and I LOVE food. All food, any food. ESP different foods!!

Our families are both OLD OLD SCHOOL!!! So – I wanted to give them some of that with my crazy type twist.

But I think your ideas are great!!!!
