you can do jazz or easy listening.  since people will be conversing during this time, it is best to keep it low, background noise.  i don’t suggest using pop music.

Natalie101985:  we had a string trio, no vocals. Went down really well. They played a mixture of classical and pop.

I like jazz and maybe a bit of big band style music! Quiet and unobtrusive.

We did a mix!  We are both musicians,  so we have a lot of songs that are special to us and meaningful to our relationship. However, many of them aren’t “dance friendly” so we used them during cocktail hour. It turned out great!

Oh geez, I voted neither, and I realize I’m the 1% unpopular vote. I say, choose songs that represent your relationship or just songs that everyone knows or likes. We chose a spotify playlist that we put together and they are all jazz standards, but they are all songs about love. For example, we choose Frank Sinatra’s I’ve Got You Under My Skin, but then we have songs like A Kiss To Build a Dream On but Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. Sooo I say just choose something that makes YOU happy, because it is your day after all.
