I heard a song in the grocery store the other day and it put me into a great mood instantly-plus, it was uncharacteristic of a grocery store so it caught me pleasantly by surprise-Just Like Heaven by The Cure, also love Layla by Eric Clapton (acoustic version), Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys…

Our cocktail hour music will probably be classic rock and DMB-ish. I’m planning on doing a live band for dancing, but I’ll probably get them to do my iPod for the cocktail hour. Of course, to do that I need to pick a dang date.

Hmm, I had been thinking we would have just instrumental music for background, so as to not take away from the dancing portion later on. But you guys gave me the great idea to have a different musical theme! Something still very background though… I’ll have to think this over!

Our cocktail music will be a mix of older favorites like Edith Piaf, Chet Baker, Etta James, Frank Sinatra, etc. with some of our newer favorites like Feist, Interpol, Broken Social Scene, Death Cab for Cutie, etc.

We had the DJ play a lot of Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Dean Martin and other singers similar to those. They kept it going into dinner. I couldn’t hear it during the cocktails (was taking pictures) and I don’t remember it during dinner – but honestly I don’t really remember any of the music from that night, it was alllll a blur!

I was about to type the exact same thing ES123.  We had a list of all sorts of things and other than our first dance & father daughter I don’t really remember anything that played after the string trio finished our recessional….all a wonderful blur.  Wait…I remember Livin on a Prayer b/c one side of the room broke out in song for a few verses 🙂

ggsb – did we have the same DJ!?! The whole night was a blur, but I do remember Living on a Prayer, and "All the Single Ladies" by Beyonce. I think I remember that one because it’s such a typical bouqet toss song but we weren’t doing a toss.
