I am having trouble putting together a selection of cocktail hour and dinner music. It’s harder than I thought it would be!
My wedding is at pioneer village in February and the ceremony music will be classical piano and violin, while the dance is going to be a contra dance! For those of you who don’t know what a contra dance is (I didn’t to begin!) it’s like a traditional kind of square dance, but the music is more celtic sounding than country – fiddle and piano with a caller.
I am having a really hard time picking music to play in the background for the cocktail hour and dinner. I want to keep the old fashioned feel, however I don’t really want to play all contra music or fiddle because after a while you can get tired of it and I certianly don’t want my guests to get tired of it before the dancing starts!
