  • poll: 9 bites per person and make your own poutine enough for a 8pm ceremony/cocktail reception??

Since they've probably had dinner it is enough

It might be enough for some but remember boys eat alot!

No way are you kidding!?! Add another food station

You crazy girl please double your menu!

You already have heaps of food. If it says on the invite cocktail reception or something, they will know to eat before and thus wont eat much anyway.

@winnipegbride – I am having a cocktail reception too – ceremony around 7-7:30pm start – I want more of a hors d’oeuvres reception – but yours sounds amazing and sounds like enough to eat!!!!!

9 bites per person does not sound like much to me.   Maybe it is just the Italian in me, not sure, but I would have more food.  I would keep the menu the same, just more.

winnipegbride:  LOVE YOUR POUTINE BAR IDEA (I am not overly fond of it, I know, how un-Canadian of me LOL)

I am putting cocktail reception on invite like you, but will also be word of mouth :P. I want a party, with a wedding thrown in.  I am very social (flit from table to table) and don’t want to “sit” for a traditional dinner, speeches etc….If someone has something to say, that’s fine they can interrupt 🙂

This is going to be sooo laid back, I can’t wait

I think it sounds good, especially if you are clear its a cocktail reception! They can always eat beforehand and plus with the (technical) all you can eat poutine, you should be all set!

    Sounds like a wonderful plan

I think expecting people to hang around drinking free Booze for 5 hours but only providing 9 bites of food each is a recipe for either a super early departure or a drunken mess. Scale up the food if you want people to stick around. Remember that folks will have eaten early, maybe even as early as 5:00, in order to freshen up and get ready and make it to your wedding on time. 9 bites of food and poutine 5 hours later is not enough.

Quite frankly, this would be a full meal for me anyway! 🙂
