(Closed) Cocktail Reception Question

I went to a cocktail reception wedding last weekend.

The wedding was 8pm and so we did not expect any food. However, there was more than enough – I knew that we would be having heavy hors deurves at the wedding and so we just had appetizers before the wedding.

At the reception it was open bar, circulated appetizers (spring rolls, shrimp, chicken skewers etc.) a cheese, bread and dip platter. Then they opened a pasta bar – it was delicious!

For the pasta bar they had chicken, shrimp, veggie medley, mushrooms, penne or rigatoni as choices and then a choice of alfredo or marinara served with garlic bread.

Then later in the night they served cake with a fruit platter, coffee and tea.

I was STUFFED by the end of the night. However, I don’t know how I would have felt if I didn’t have the apps before the wedding and if it fell over dinner time.

I Love the concept of cocktail receptions; however, do you think you could push your time back so that people aren’t expecting dinner?
