We had dessert and drinks only, with the dessert tables set up Amy Atlas style. I did have full table seating with assigned tables, since so many people were total strangers, and the tables (round 8 seaters) were inlcuded with our rental. 🙂

We are having a cocktail reception with dessert and appetizers only.  The venue we picked has 3 adjoining rooms- one with tall tables, one with overstuffed couches and one with a full bar with bar stools.  So no assigned seating as we hope people will mingle.  Ours is 3 hours, 7-10pm.

We’re doing a cocktail reception – hors d’oeuvres and cake – for about 200 guests. We’re having unassigned seating for about 140 guests (for when they get tired) and tall cocktail tables. Everything kind of surrounding the dance floor. My goal is to keep the people moving, socializing, having fun.

We did an afternoon cocktail reception for appox 100 guests (around 15 of whom were kids).  We had a bar area with some seating, but I had enough round tables for the majority of guests to sit if they wanted.  It was really nice to see all the guests mingling and talking to people they hadn’t met before.  We had some appetizers at stations and some passed.
