We are planning our vow renewal to be on a yacht cruising San Francisco bay. It’s going to be about 25-30 guests, no dancing planned, no DJ but we will have a photo booth and candy buffet to give our guests something to do other than just enjoy the cruise. If we do cocktails and hors d’oeuvres it’s a 2.5 hour cruise and the ceremony would be on the boat prior to leaving dock. I have a few questions. Is 7 passed and 3 stations enough to be considered a meal? It’s 2 pieces each so that’s 20 pieces per person. Is that enough food that we could have this during a meal time? Or would it be better for a non meal time? Also, is 10 differant things enough? The package only comes with 5 types but we can add 5 more to the package to make it more substantial. The menu would look something like this:
Seasonal Vegetable Crudités
International Cheese and Seasonal Fruit Display with Assorted Crackers
Shrimp Egg Roll
Goat Cheese Wonton
Crispy Artichoke Hearts
Wild Mushroom Turnover
Mini Beef Wellington

are those the passed? what are the stations?
They reccomend 20 pieces per person if its to replace dinner. So you should be OK, but I dont know if I would consider crudite a piece, more extra since many may not care for a vegetable platter- while other would love it! (like me)
Is it possible to do a pasta station? they can be cheap and filling for people

I did the same type of reception at my wedding with 75 guests and 20 pieces of food is way more than enough. We only did 10 pieces per person and had a ton leftover.
Our ceremony was at 7pm and we brought the food out around 8pm. We served cake at 9pm.

The chicken drummets, vegetable crudite and cheese and fruit platter are stations. All the other would be passed. This is the schedule I was thinking:
2:30pm – Wedding ceremony and time for late guests to board prior to sailing
3pm – Yacht sails, bar opens, guests find their seats in the dining room and stations will open, food will begin to be steward passed.
4:30pm – Cake cutting
5:30pm – Yacht docks
The photobooth and candy buffet will be available as soon as the ceremony is over.
