Have you had or attended a co-ed shower? Did you enjoy it better than you would have a conventional "bridal" shower, or wish you’d gone the traditional route?

Our friends are going to throw us a coed shower – either a "honeymoon shower" or a "stock the bar" party. We have a whole ton of "couple friends" so I am really excited to have everyone there! My sister is also planning to throw me a traditional bridal shower so I get the best of both worlds. 🙂

We are having a co-ed shower this weekend with my FI’s family. I’ve been to a couple before and they have always been a lot of fun. They like to play the Newlywed Game & get lots of couples involved. You normally end of learning WAY too much about your family members personal lives…like your grandparents.

I have never been to a co-ed bridal shower, but I have been to a co-ed baby shower (2 of them, both times my fiance wanted to kill me for making him go). So for that reason I would never have a co-ed bridal shower 🙂 He did say he would stop by at the end and say hello and thank you if I wanted him to. He will be happy to see everything when I get home, plus Im doing a very girly theme haha

While I don’t know a lot of men who want to be present at a shower (my Fiance included!!!) I think they can be fun, particularly if a co-ed theme is used (I like stock the bar theme, outdoor themes…) Also I know a couple that did a "jack and jill" type shower that was more of a cocktail party where people brought gifts.

We went to one for his cousin a few months ago. And I hosted a coed baby shower for my bro and SIL. They’re fun but I love the idea of just hanging with the girls. I’m not sure what the plan is yet for mine. I don’t really have a preference. I’m sure though, that my Fiance would rather not have a coed shower!

I think we may do a co-ed shower. Mr. Ducky wants to be a part of the present opening. JK..sort of. We might do this for a family and family friends shower so that more people can be a part of the celebration. Probably more of a BBQ and hang-out than a formal shower with all the games etc.

I went to one co-ed shower. The guys were pretty disinterested in being there, but it also wasn’t set up great. The presents were mostly for the bride, and barely involved the groom (although he was excited to receive the roomba for their apt). I think with the right group of people it could work.

Before I answer, I just have to say I read the title, and thought it was about taking showers with your Fiance.
Anyway- I’ve never attended one, and I wanted to have one, but my Fiance works on weekends, so it didn’t end up working out. Oh well 🙂
