So, I don’t even know how the conversation was brought up, but on Mothers Day I was chatting with my mom & dad about how my FI’s mom made him a scrapbook of his whole life for his last birthday. and in it there is a sheet of paper from his year of birth listing famous and popular people/things/world achievements etc.
There was a list of the top 10 music artists and one of those was Sheena Easton! That is my name! It just seems cute and appropriate that he would marry a girl named Sheena.
So then I got thinking, is there anything like that from my side? Which hilariously enough, there is!
My dad used to sing me Nat King Cole and Simon & Garfunkel to put me to sleep when I was little. Well, I strangely have a cat named Nat and my FI’s name is Simon!
Anyone else have weird little coincidences like this? Share them!

Maybe it is unconscious choices like that! Very interesting, but I don’t think I have anything like that to compare!

Yup. We’ve got a few.
1) FI’s mom and my mom have the same first name
2) FI’s aunt and my aunt have the same first name
3) FI’s grandparents have the same names as Fiance and I.

@KatNYC2011: woah! That is a lot of same names! So strange and so interesting.
@dreamocracy: Our unconcious is letting us know those names are a “comfort from the past”? very interesting!!

I always knew I’d marry a guy whose name started with J…and I did.
I also had this random lady tell me about 10 years ago that I’d marry a guy from highschool. My school was very small and I couldn’t think of anyone that I would marry from HS – I didn’t date anyone at my highschool. Anyway…I ended up marrying one of my good friends from HS.

Only one I have is kinda morbid but we didn’t realize it until my grandmother passed a couple weeks ago.
My grandma’s last name was Keeder and beside her new grave stone was the last name Dunlap…which will be my last name when we marry….We found it interesting.

We have a few as well.
*My stepfather and DH’s father have the same first name. So DH’s middle name is the same as my stepfather’s first name.
*My birthday is two days after DH’s birthday. His mother’s birthday is the day before his birthday.
*We grew up in the same state (not the state we met in).

@Crisark: woah! That is creepy but cool. It’s so strange how that kinda stuff happens!
@BackyardLoveBird: It’s amazing how you view people differently after time has passed! Someone you never could see yourself with all of a sudden becomes the love of your life! so sweet!

@.twist.: Yup. We also both have younger siblings of the same sex (i.e. he has a brother, I have a sister) exactly 4 1/2 years younger then we are.
And his dad’s wife has the same first name as me and the same first & last initials as I do (until I change my name to his).

When I was little my sister and our friend used to play house. We’d all pick names and have a “story” My name was always mine plus (FH’s last name) and I’d be married to (his name) his name is pretty common but still…whats weird is our friend used to choose the same name and she would be the “evil” neighbor. Turns out the name she always chose was FH’s psycho ex-girlfriends name. I laugh becuase even at 7 I apparently knew I wanted to be Mrs. FH’s last name and that I would always hate the “evil” neighbor!!! I didn’t remember ANY of this until we were watching home movies and my parents had decided to film us playing house, it was CRAZY!

@MrsPinkPeony: oh! That is sooo weird. I know my Fiance has a crazy ex too, and growing up, now that I think about it, I haven’t met anyone with her name that I liked or got along with. Maybe it was a sign too!

@.twist.: Oh and I forgot that my birthday is only 2 days before his and the date I was due with my first child ( not FI’s so it was weird) was the birthday of his grandmother whom I never met. His dad’s birthday is 1 day before my mothers. I mean those aren’t as interesting to me as the grave stones but they are neat lol

1. My man was a long time scotland fan and had a kilt.
2. He gave me the engagement ring purchased by his great grandfather who he is named after.
3. Think the lady whose ring I have was scottish to an extent?
4. My sister in law to be has the same first name as me, and when I get married we will officially have the same name. She was also living in the UK when she met my brother in law. They also had a long distance relationship.

Me and him lived in Korea, in the same city, at the same time when I was growing up. Because of our age difference, he was a young soldier and I was finishing up middle school, and I was there through high school.
When me and him met, we were talking about all the places in Korea that we had been to…and we had been to the exact same places, and we moved back to the states around the same time in 2008. We didn’t meet until 2009.
So for the number of years we both lived there, we probably saw each other and passed each other all the time (the community was pretty tight-knit at the base we were at), and never realized it.
