A little back story but I am kinda second guessing my decision. My wedding is in less then a year and in a different country so essentially because I cannot leave when I move down there I have ten months to plan it so I decided to start wedding dress shopping now. Where I live in Canada there’s not a HUGE selection of wedding dresses but there is still lots to choose from. I went to a designer boutique my first time shopping and I didnt really get to try on too many and my best friend pointed out it felt like they were trying to control the sale- kept pushing me towards a ballgown.
I went to one other place that carries other designers such as Maggie Sottero, Alfred Sung, Mori Lee, etc. The first time I went with my mum and best friend/MOH I felt in love with this dress, but tried on many more:
I always pictured myself in a ballgown and that’s what ended up suiting me the most. I really did try to like mermaid, trumpet, fit and flare styles etc., but it didnt suit my personality. I’m very much a girly girl and wanted a princess type dress. I went back yesterday to try on the dress along with a few others as my Bridesmaid or Best Man came with and saw a few others. I tried on the ones I like best and ended up choosing a completely different dress. The dress I tried on is in ivory and I ordered it in white. It doesn’t have as much bling as I originally thought I would have in a wedding dress but it is more conservative which is what I like. The dress is also about 2 sizes too big so it was hard to gauge what it will end up looking like. The shop stayed open late to finish my appointment so I felt bad about that and everyone loved that dress most. When I compared the two, I liked the following one better but now I just keep switching my mind. IS THIS NORMAL?!
I’ve been doing the same with our venue since it will be a daytime wedding but I have NO other doubts about the venue- it’s absolutely stunning, it’s everything I envisioned and I’ve heard amazing reviews about their food. (If you’ve gotten this far, THANK YOU! for listening to me) With that being said I feel like this dress is more daytime too. So here is said dress:
One more debacle… ugh!! I’m so sorry to any Bee’s reading this… When I got home, I double checked the color of my shoes and they are an off white. Now I’m scared they will look bad with the dress in white but I dont want an ivory dress as the white does more my skin tone! I searched high and low for these shoes and they are the perfect shoe for me and my personality. When I went to visit my fiance he bought them as gift for me. Here are the shoes and the dress in white (on a model):
Thank you SO much to anyone who reads this and replies!

Also… I’ve heard stories of brides crying and absolutely knowing the moment they see it.. but that wasn’t the case for me. And that makes me nervous. But when she compared the two the second one was my choice.

saracatherine: your dress is long so I think you’ll be okay wearing those shoes. I didn’t cry when I found my dress. Your probably just nervous with the wedding getting close.

I think decisions that are so final scare us. I am having the same problem. I bought a wedding dress and don’t know if it’s the one for me, but I got an amazing deal on it and I know I could sell it and get a different one if I really wanted. Both dresses look stunning, so I’m sure you will rock either one! Is it too late to switch to another one? Don’t worry about feeling bad- in this industry having your business is a privilege. Get the one you know in your heart you want, or take a day to think hard about it, or a pros/cons list. But ultimately remember- it’s just one day. It’s built up to be such a huge deal, but you look great in both dresses, and you are going to have an amazing day regardless with family and friends 🙂

Love the first dress on you but OMG that second dress is absolutely breathtaking on you and yes, the shoes will go just fine with it. You look ethereal in it. Wow…just wow!

I much prefer the second dress to the first! It’s so classic but very princessy too 🙂 I love the shoes and I wouldn’t worry about them matching, no one really sees them anyways 🙂 x

The second dress is just beautiful. I don’t really like the first one though. And no worries about the shoes, no one will even see them!

I was reading this and looking at the first dress, thinking it was OK but not jaw dropping, and then when I scrolled down and say the second one I was floored. You look breathtaking in it! You are going to knock the socks off your groom!
I wouldn’t worry about the shoes, they are lovely, and really NOBODY will notice if they aren’t the same shade of white! I love combos of creamy colors anyway!

I just looked at them again. A million times yes, you were right to pick #2!

#2 looks amazing on you!!! I’m not a fan of the style of beading on the first dress.

saracatherine: The second dress is so much better! Not many will see your shoes so I wouldn’t worry about that AT ALL. Also, no, not everyone cries when they put on their dress!

Gorgeous dress (2) and the shoes are to die for. I wouldn’t worry about off white versus white. Also, it’s a rare stark white shoe that looks good. You’re going to be stunning!

Both dresses are pretty but I like the first one a lot better. It is a gorgeous dress & the bring is done in a very classy way. I like the way it fits your chest area better too. I’ve seen that dress & it will sparkle so beautifully. The second dress is boring. As far as the shoes go…no one is going to see your shoes. They’re basically going to be photographed & worn & that’s it….those are their only purposes that day.
