You couldn’t pay me enough to wear UGGs.  I have a pair of boots bought couple of years ago from JC Penny’s. I can’t even remember the brand name.  But they are warm and keep the feet dry.

I wear my Sorel Tivoli boots all winter long. They are waterproof and warm (most important since I have raynauds disease). The Tivolis have a smaller toe box then the joan of arc type boot. I think they are fashionable and practical. I wear them every where!

I have a pair of Sorels that I LOVE to pieces. They’re super warm, 100% waterproof… my only complaint is they don’t have great traction on ice, but they’re fantastic on the snow. After 7 years in one of the snowiest cities in the US, my rules for winter boots:

    • 100% waterproof
    • Plenty of traction
    • Insulated

Definitely look for that above “cute” and PLEASE stay away from Uggs – they are so unpractical. Can’t tell you how many sorority girls I saw gingerly trying to walk around puddles and slush during my undergrad years in their Ugg boots.

Also – generally you get what you pay for with winter boots, so if you want something that will last, spring for the slightly more expensive. DSW is a good source and they have a lot of great sales + coupons (and they’re one of the few stores that lets you use multiple coupons on one purchase – up to 4!)

There are so many boot options out there!  Good quality boots can be really expensive, but they will last.

I wear my Footprints (by Birkenstock) everyday.  They are the Garda.  Now is a good time to shop for boots, as there are lots of sales.

@sweetchiquita12:  They’ve held up beautifully – I’ve had no discolouration or damage to them at all despite wearing them for 4 or 5 months a year. I’ve never cleaned them and I’ve had them since 2011.

i just wear the same thing that I wore all summer.  Right now I am wearing swats, but if I had running shoes I would be wearing those.

Yes I live in Canada and yes we have over a foot of snow here.  I just don’t see the point in getting boots really.  I don’t think that I need them.

Where I live, it always snowed heavily during the winter. I will wear my leather boots when it is dry and hasen’t snowed in a while/the sidewalks are clear(no puddles, salt, ect). Don’t want to ruin nice boots or flats with salt or water stains. When it does snow, I will wear my Hunter rain boots for a while.

I’m a total freak and will wear ballet flats in the snow. I have leather boots and uggs as well, but I’m not big on boots.

    Another Minnesotan here!

I have a pair of duck boots and I love them! I got them on clearance at Bloomingdales the day after Christmas when I lived in LA so they were super cheap… And they’re Burberry! These are for super snowy days or very very cold days.

On note so snowy days, I wear these short slouchy suede boots that have been treated. I wear with smart wool or other heavy socks… On fancy days, I wear tall leather boots with a heel and thicker socks.
