Cold weather moms- How do you keep baby warm when traveling?? I’ve read that for safety reasons there should be no snowsuits or thick jackets under the car seat straps. We just switched to a convertible carseat and even though I can bundle baby up with blankets once he is strapped in, I am having a really hard time keeping him warm walking from the house to the car (even though it takes only 30 seconds), or from the car to places like a store or doctors office. I can’t bring myself to put his snowsuit on in the house and then take it off once he is in the car. It just seems impossible!!! I know safety is more important than warmth, but I feel like he should be able to be both safe AND warm! Help!

We have this for our daughter, it is a fleecy extra layer with a hood but it is not bulky under the car seat straps.

I just packed on the blankets over the car seat. I had the convertible car seat and just brought it in with me where ever I went

We have this car seat cover that just snaps over the top of the car seat; nothing goes beneath the straps, so it’s safe to use with baby. It’s like this one, only a different color:
When it’s really cold out, I’d also tuck a blanket over Dirty Delete underneath the car seat cover, so she couldn’t kick it off, and drape a blanket over the handles, so she didn’t get hit with rain/snow.
