I plan on buying / making a few of these blankets. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/514114113681501727/

I’m due in Jan in upstate NY, I’m not sure it’s an option to not wear at least a thick fleece layer in the car seat. Then put many blankets over. I’ll probably get the amazon jj cole cover (thanks bees for that!)

For dd, I used a combination of a carseat cover (shower cap style, anything that goes under the baby is unsafe and can cause the carseat to fail if you are in an accident) and a fleece snowsuit made by Columbia.

I really love The Nuzzler: http://www.babypolargear.com/nuzzler.html

That’s the kind I used with DD and it was awesome.

SOrry to threadjack, but what about for a 1 year old? I got puffer jackets for my friend’s babies, is that okay? I guess she can use them for trips on foot (she doesn’t have her own car) and for the girls to play outside on colder days.
