What exactly are the guidlines for chosing a topic? And what can you get passionate about? Those are always the most well written, easiest to write, and easiest to read papers.

What about the relationship between very experienced employees and the not experienced (aka newly graduated college students)

what about the effects of choosing diversity as a priority in the office? Is there any data out there linking office productivity or overall educational background to the level of diversity in the office. I would find this topic interesting to read, although you would have to be very careful about how you approached the topic, it is one of those “hot button” issues that could be taken the wrong way if not properly written.

It would be different for sure.

Maybe something about illegal immigrants in the workforce? Or maybe reverse discrimination, which is basically the other side of the affirmative action coin?

What about age discrimination–from both ends- too old or too young.

Maybe a paper on Generational discrimination or bias–Baby Boomers think Gen X are lazy; Gen Y think Gen X are… I would do it on what the biases are and how to overcome them like if you are a Baby Boomer Manager the way you manage Gen Y are by…

Changing job, company or career after 40, is it possible? Lately, I’ve heard a few comments about people being too old for a job or too old to leave their job and with high unemployment rates these days I can imagine more and more “mature” workers are in the job market. Could be really timely to investigate the upper age spectrum and career mobility. I would want to read your paper.

P.S. I’m happy to see such positive responses. Last summer, i convinced my research partner that weddingbee is a great comunity and we created a post asking for feedback on a paper we were writing around marriage and the first person to respond said something along the lines of do your own homework. I was shocked at the response and also kind of deflated after telling my research partner what a helpful community Weddingbee is. This post just makes me feel better about hte community atmosphere.
