Okay. To start out, our colors were orange, brown, and a camo accent. Now that I’ve really started looking a pictures of real weddings on the net, I’ve wanted to change colors.
The orange don’t really work out, except for in our bouquets & bouts. (All of which have been bought) Now I’m leaning more to a deep purple, rust, black & white. (All of these colors, except for black, are used in the flowers)
The guys are wearing black pants, white shirts (no jackets). The guys include groom, best man, groomsmen, and my father. His step father might wear black & white too. The girls that are doing the guest book, and door opening are wearing black skirts & white shirts, of black & white dresses. The bridesmaids dresses are going to be chocolate brown (that I found at Davids Bridal)
I don’t know what color for the mothers & his aunt to wear. (His aunt and uncle [whom is the Best man] were more parents to him than his own parents) Or the grandmothers.
And the jewelry I’m wearing will most likely be my grandmother’s pearl necklace, and a set of pearl earrings that I have that match the necklace. Our toasting glasses might have a couple pearls in it to match. (I found at wal-mart)
My problem is the colors. It’s a October [fall] wedding. There are SO many pretty colors for the fall. Golds, yellows, reds, orange, browns, some dark greens, purple. I’m wanting to stay away from a LOT of orange. Seeing as how that what the flowers are.

Oh, I know that the G-men and the B-maids are suppose to match in some way. So the chocolate brown of the dresses will match the brown in the men’s vests. I talked to the Maid/Matron of Honor, and she mentioned going to Payless to look for shoes. Or go to Shoe Carnival, where they sometimes have "BOGO 1/2 price", ringing them all up at the same time, and splitting the cost between the 4 of them. Which seemed like a fair idea.

Hi Amanda – I think that you CAN use all of those colors that you love. So you have enough orange with the flowers. You can use the rust and dark purple and olive colors for other accents. All of the colors that you talk about are fall colors, so why not use the all of them? All of the attendants will look good in black and white with all of the pretty colors around them. I wouldn’t undo what you’ve done, just add to it!
My wedding is 10/10/10, and our colors are Chocolate brown, cinnamon, and latte. There will be plenty of burgandy and other fall colors too though.
Let us know what you decide 🙂

My mother thought about wearing a brownish color. She’s wanting me to go with her when she picks out a dress. She actually has a dress that’s black and white pattern. But we don’t want too much black and white either. LOL.

David’s Bridal has a color coordination board to see what shades look best for MOB and MOG with your wedding colors. It might help you sort out your ideas.
Also, look for some inspiration on Snippet and Ink!
Pomegranate and Plum
Espresso and Marigold
Golden Autumn Days
Hope those help you get started! Orange is great accent for flowers (and I don’t think you really need incorporate any other orange if you don’t want!)

I don’t think you need to dictate what color moms and grandmas have to wear. Go shopping with them and help them find dresses that they feel beautiful in and that just won’t clash with the color scheme you choose for pictures.

@ aja0829, don’t worry. I wasn’t planning on dictating on what they’re going to wear. Me trying to tell my mother and grandmother what to wear? Ha! That’s a straight shot to a slap in the mouth. lol! I’m kidding. I’m going to go shopping with my mother, and grandmother, and his aunt to help them with their dresses. They already asked me to go with them because they don’t know where to start.
@ LatteLove, I love the Espresso/Marigold and the Autumn Days. They are very pretty! Thanks for the links!
