I think a red/white/black colour scheme would be lovely in that space. But you’re the one who has to love it. Have you thought about why you’re having second doubts about your colours? Sometimes we all just get really overwhelmed by other weddings that we start to doubt our own choices.

I think it would be perfect, you’re working with a completely neutral palette…you can use any colors you want there!

There’s no reason you can’t make red/black/white with a more fun feel. Have you asked your FH what he thinks?

if you’re not 100% onboard with the white/red/black, you could steal the yellow from the house as inspiration. you could use bright, summery, island colors and that would look wonderful at an outdoor puerto rican wedding. maybe yellow, orange, green, and blue? or something like that!

If you wanted a different opinion from red, black, and white, you can do vibrant colors.Since your wedding is in July, is it summer there? I think of Puerto Rico being colorful. You can do pinks, yellows, with touches of blue/turquoise.

Just an idea. Here’s a pic.

im doing black and white with red flower accents at my wedding. you could throw in maybe a little bit of purple with the red and the black so that it has a little bit more of a pop of color. your flowers could be red and purple.

here’s a picture from a friend of mine’s wedding. she had black as her main color, and then a ton of colorful accents. this would work nicely for you, since your fiance definitely wants black and you want it to be a little more fun.

how about using black and white stripes with hints of red or perhaps even a polka dot pattern? that’s very fun and still chic and elegant!  i also love throwing yellow in there if you choose to, but it’s definitely not needed.

We’re doing black with jewel tone accents – this way I didn’t have to decide on one color.  I liked the black/white/red idea but I felt it limited me and felt too Valentine’s Day (said my MOH).
