I am a budget bride who was gifted teal (turquiose?) tableclothes, lime tableclothes and lime chair sashes. I’m trying to figure out how to make this work in the most frugal way. I’ve googled and while the colors match, I would never put them together. My wedding will be outdors at a friend’s big red barn, if that helps. I thought about adding a third color, like coral, to tone it down. Or picking either teal or lime and running with it. I do want silver chargers (not purchased yet so can change color) under my mismatched china. Can you guys help me out? I even thought about ditching the blue and going with lime and coral since the only chair sashes I have are green. My head is all over the place. Help me focus, please! I need some inspiration! My centerpieces are white church birdhouses and flowers can be any color. Bird themed wedding…..I thoough about white tableclothes and chair covers underneath to tone it down a bit, an added expense that I might have to consider. :/

Eek I’m not sure if lime would go with the red barn as you describe. Teal would go a bit better. Do you have to do chair sashes? This picture has mint and not teal but maybe accenting with peach would be softer than coral?

Can you post pics of the colors in question?

I found this photo online. The colors are exactly like what I was given. It is just sooo bright for my personality. I wanted to tone it down a bit. The white tableclothes do help…..a lot….

Do you have to use everything just because it was gifted? Those are very bright colors. I’d just use the table cloths and anything else that’s more muted in color and figure out where else I can pinch pennies.

eminthedistrict : This is almost exactly what I had in mind before I was gifted the bright colors. Love it!

FutureMrsBex : I like both colors, just not for my wedding. I am very frugal by nature and was hoping I could make it work, some how. lol Might not be able to though….

You don’t have to use the chair sashes for starters. That might help the decision making.
Do you have enough blue cloths for all the tables? Or, will you need to supplement with another color? If so, I would use white. Blue and white with mimatched china and flowers will be pretty and plenty of color.
I would also rethink the silver chargers. They are really not necessary. Metallic chargers with mismatched china at a barn wedding.might be overkill. We don’t need to incude everything we love. If you must have chargers, I would consider white or wood. Dollar Tree has them now. I haven’t seen the faux wood ones in person yet.

I think it’s possible that you could end up spending more money trying to tone down something you don’t even like than just starting from scratch. Is the person who gifted them going to be at your wedding? Do you feel like you have to use them?

I think the teal would be lovely for a bird theme, with white and peach/coral perhaps. Chair sashes aren’t a necessity. Tone the bright teal and peach/coral down with white and taupe?
Emphasis on bluebirds? 🙂
