Hmm, those three colors are going to be a very bright, festive look. Depending on the size of the gingham check though it might get a little busy (like if the gingham check is really big).

If you wanted a less wild but still picnicky feel, you could do blue and white gingham tablecloths instead. I think the blue would showcase flowers of those colors whereas red might compete with them. It’s really up to you though :).

I agree with chelseamorning.  You may be able to get away with it depending on the size of the check.  You could always buy a cheap plastic gingham tablecloth (or something like it) and test it out with some grocery flowers – you can pluck out your colors.

To tie in with the picnic theme, another idea is brown paper tablecloths that people can write on.  It’s neutral and you could cut it with cute design scissors so there’s a nice trim at the bottom.  Or you could do wood or white tablecloths that are tied on both sides with ribbons.

I’m not sure.  Could you incorporate red flower too, to tie in to the red in the gingham?  How about a shabby chic look?  Maybe have rustic furniture, but have the table linens be fancy.  Then you could have plain or solid color that will work with the flowers.
