I have a ruby ring and intend to do exactly the same thing! I have found a lot of options on Etsy. And because everything there is made to order, you can ask them for different colors. ๐Ÿ™‚

cdohertyx3:  I know there is a Bee somewhere on here who wore a lovely blue wedding dress with white lace overlay. She had her gown custom made by “the shop” I believe.

I personally wore an ivory silk tulle gown with some inctricate blue beadwork on it, though not custom, it certainly was a rare and unique gown! I don’t have a gemstone ering, but I did wear several aquamarine and blue topaz jewelry pieces on my wedding day to coordinate with the gown. I think you have a lovely idea and I look forward to hopefully seeing photos of this dream gown!

I really love this one (a little more cool grey than blue) and it’s under $1,000:

That Etsy shop has a few pastel wedding dresses and they’re all lovely.

I know a girl who wore something like what you described!! It was GORGEOUS. I won’t post the whole photo since it is not mine, but I will post a small swatch of the dress.

I think the color was technically platinum.

Check out @winterxrose! She had a beautiful custom dress with a blue underlay.

Also, this look should be easier to find, since the “Frozen” movie is so popular.

I also incporporated red into my dress, but not as an underlay. It was with a petticoat, belt and accessories. I was thinking of an underlay, but I dislike pink, and red+white = pink.

MrsSapphire:  My dress may be similar to what you are talking about, it’s a blue-ish grey underneath and then white (maybe ivory?) lacee over top.

DRESSMine wasn’t grey-blue but it was a light rose-gold/blush color and it was gorgeous! I think colored gowns are amazing!

MrsSapphire:  It’s a local designer to Atlanta! They sell off-the-rack in the store (they carry sizes like 0-28) and all the dresses are under $1000. I’m not sure if they ship, but the link to the store is http://carriesbridalcollection.com/ – the dress is currently the first photo in the scrolling pictures on the main page, but if you end up contacting them and it’s not on there anymore, feel free to use my photo to help them identify the dress (they don’t currently have style names or numbers that I’m aware of since it’s more of a brick and mortar business).

As an aside, it comes as a modified A-line – it’s clipped on me as a fit and flare (or mermaid? I don’t know, haha) because that’s how I’m going to have it altered.

observer:  Thank you! I sometimes open the garment bag (it hangs in my dressing room) and just pet it…. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ve also worn the belt (it tied in the back with silk ribbon) as a long(er) statement necklace for special occasions so that’s fun!
