So our reception is going to be at a children’s museum, which is very visually busy all on its own. The predominant color in the room is yellow, there’s a large green and blue clock that glows green at night, and just about every color of the rainbow in the room somewhere. I’m kind of at a loss for a color scheme. I don’t like green, and although I like yellow, it doesn’t seem right for our winter wedding, nor does it seem to go well with black (which is the color my bridesmaids will be wearing.) I also worry that adding more of the colors that are already overwhelming in the room might make them even more overpowering. Then again, I worry that choosing different colors might just make the room look more chaotic. What would you recommend for a color scheme in a busy, colorful room?
Note: the church is beautiful on its own, with fairly neutral colors and lots of natural wood. Right now, I’m not planning to decorate it at all–doesn’t seem worth the time, effort, or money. The bridesmaids will be in black, and we’ll have bouquets, but there won’t be any other flowers or pew bows or an arch or anything.
