I work from home, and after 4 years I am FINALLY making myself a proper office. I plan to do grey walls and I already have white trim in the room. I bought a mid-century desk at a garage sale and painted it a super fun teal. I want to bring teal into the room in some other spots (maybe photo frames?). The only other color I have in there right now is hot pink. I’ve never been a “pink” person but I have this bowl I really love that I want on my desk, and I plan to hang a print on the wall that has hot pink in it. But– I don’t really want more pink than that because I don’t want a barbie room lol. I feel like I need one more color though to kind of give depth to the room and compliment the teal. Green? Yellow? I’m torn. Any thoughts/opinions appreciated!
My work area (walls getting painted grey next weekend!).
Here is another view that shows the desk color/bowl better.

I am a BIG Fan of GOOGLE… it is always my go-to place for info
You can GOOGLE whatever it is you are interested in… for example – Office Teal and Grey – will give you a lot of hits in GOOGLE IMAGES
Tons of inspiration to be found there,
Hope this helps,

I have this hanging in my sitting room…. I’m a history nut, so I like propaganda.
But I like the color scheme, and did my room in Red & Teal with some yellow also

@jessierhysy: Thanks! I kind of like that grellow-y color. I think what I struggle with is bringing in color without it being overwhelming, I think the first office does a really good job of that… maybe my grey walls will help. I like the 2nd and 3rd offices but they’re a just a little too neutral for me 🙂
@peachacid: oo those are cute! Also… seem kind of diy-able!
@This Time Round: WOW. Thanks for the super awesome tip!! Also, next time a random super-controversial thread about home decor tucked back in the nesting section somehow offends you? Feel free to just click away.
@Sea_bass: haha just one corgi, but apparently i’m obsessed with him. my husband was like “omg you have a picture of him on your desk and not me?” so I think I need to find a pic of him for on the desk too.
@StuporDuck: Interesting! I never would’ve thought of teal and red. I always shy away from warm colors like red and orange… but maybe I should consider it!

HGTV is my decor inspiration. They say start with one item- pillow, fabric, rug and base your room around the colors in that piece. I would look for an area rug with the teal and go from there.
I personally would go with lime green. If you don’t want too much bright color, use various shades from aqua through your teal with just pops of lime. Silver would be my choice for lighting, accessories.
Look on HGTV website; they may have suggestions. David Bromstad from Color Splash has a paint line of coordinating colors.

I think yellow would look great with both colours, as would red 🙂

@Jacqui90: @Mrs.KMM: thanks!

A great idea is to go to a craft store and find some scrapbooking paper you like in different complimentary patterns then frame those . If you have size you can make a great collage of fun colors and patterns. It looks real “home decor magazine” like and you can change them out if you want to do a different theme or color ever.

I was looking at HGTV Pinterest under color. On the left side there is a pic of a small chest painted in turquoise, royal and lime green. Very vibrant.
I would attach the picture but I don’t have a clue how!!!
