I think generally they run the same price whether you pick white or color.

We got Brown envelopes from Hobby Lobby, fit our 5×7 Invite Pocketfolds for 2.99 per 12

There are also some nice A9 & rsvp A2 white & ivory invitation envelopes at Office Depot that were like 12 bucks for 100 I think

I think if you went with white you could definitely use something like a stamp to add something to them.. and definitely a nice font for the addressing

If color does cost more i would just go with white. Its the envelope is going to end up in the trash ten secounds after its opened lol. But amnystik is right about the stamping, it can make a world of difference.

I had the same dilemna – choosing between white or colored envelopes – and I’ve decided to go colored. Mail is just so much more fun to receive if it comes in a colored envelope! And my wedding invitation is perhaps one of the most important things I will ever drop off at the post office!

http://www.envelopemall.com has a good selection, and very reasonable prices. Now I have to choose which color I want to go with! So many fun ones out there! : )

Hope this helps!

I used white exterior envelopes and did a color for the response envelope.  You could use an envelope liner to add color for when it’s opened, if you go the white route.

Something to consider when picking envelopes is what kind of ink color you’ll use (if you go the colored envelope route).

I’m using plain white, but I’m lining them and then stamping them too
