Definitely the personalized water bottles.  No one thinks to drink extra water when they come visit & that can make for some nasty hangovers at this altitude!

Chocolove chocolate is fantastic, and it’s made in Boulder.  Cheapest place I found the full-size bars was Vitamin Cottage (even cheaper than ordering direct).  They also make mini bars for $1/each.

We also put bananas in the bags, and people seemed to like that.  Bottom line—everyone was psyched (really psyched) by their welcome bags—a lot of people had delayed flights and arrived really really hungry!

We also put in a welcome letter with a phone number of one of our friends, in case anyone got lost or needed directions—this was a subtle hint not to call me or the fiance, as we would be busy!!!

Ladies, have you checked out Mrs. Cookie’s Bridal Tea Goodie Bag post?  She has some fabulous ideas, including that yummy chocolate!

I’m making “altitude survival kits” for my guests staying at the 2 hotels where we have blocks of rooms.  I was thinking of putting in: bottle of water, granola bar, small bag of m&m’s, some Advil (altitude headaches)…sunscreen is a great idea!

sodas: Tommyknocker sodas (rootbeer, orange, and cream soda, there might be others too) are made in Idaho Springs, CO. Izzie is from Boulder.

adding packets of sunscreen or small tubes of it, and water are a GREAT ideas. Maybe chapstick with sunscreen too, you can get those with custom labels if you’re really into the branding thing from lots of online places. I’d throw in some advil and maybe alkaseltzer too. You can order mini packets of them on-line from alltravelsizes.com we’re probably throwing in some Ginger Chews ’cause they’re tasty and can help settle your stomach if you have some altitude issues.
