I was going to do it (I purchased the dress online) but when I tried it on I thought it was too unique for even my taste. Don’t narrow your options so soon. Try EVERYTHING on to know what you like and what you don’t like (believe me, you DON’T want to be writing a dress regret post!). Enjoy the engagement process when it comes because it will quickly get overwhelming and stressful if you dive in the wedding planning too soon. Also, don’t think about the dress first, think about the style you want your wedding to be, book the venue, then you can take on getting the dress.

I went to a 50’s theme wedding and the bride wore a beautiful deep purple dress with a “poodle” shape skirt. She looked stunning and it wasn’t weird to me at all =)

This isn’t really “colored”, but it’s certainly not white!

My dress is called “light gold”. It really IS gold. It’s an antique looking silk tafetta. My mother’s wedding dress was actually the same color! She saw it on me (my dress, not hers) and said “It’s like you walked out of 1880… It looks amazing on you!”

@PenguinLove:

I’m having an aubergine wedding dress and I love it. I knew from the word go I wouldn’t be having a white one. I felt so much more comfortable in this and a pink one(anyone that knows me knows I dont really like pink)  I tried on than any of the white ones I tried on. I would recomend trying on a few and see what you like.

Here’s my dress! I have gotten some looks (you know…) but no one seems particularly surprised. Give them the idea for a bit before you show them anything you’ve bought.

I just need to figure out how to get my boobs to do that…

And @sienna76 all those dresses you posted were gorgeous! That is good inspiration.

Holy crap, that orange dress is AMAZINGGGGGG!!!!!  I’d totally rock that, in that colour too!    I already have my dress, and didn’t even look into colours, but that dress is WOW.

@lifegirl:

I am having my girls in silver, groomsmen having silver ties and Fiance is having a grey suit with an aubergine tie. I’m having bits of white as well. I did originally want black but, it would be too dark even for me.
