I just can’t let this thread go ๐Ÿ˜Š. I love seeing all these lovely colored gemstone rings and the different styles.

Here is my modern mermaidy sapphire set in rose gold, paired with an antique ruby rose gold ring. The green/blue/yellow sapphire shows different colors depending on the lighting.

  1. In the last two weeks I did receive 2 rings that I ordered. One in rose gold Alexandrite and another rose gold from Provence by Flora in the blue-green moissy. I love them both so much!!

@mollyjane79:  What a lovely collection!! What are those pretty purple and green stones on your ring finger?  I would also like to compliment you on how cohesive your look is. It seems like you have really curated your pieces and I can see how each one fits in with your style and you could wear so many together and have it all work. I struggle with this!

@tulip65:  that stag and finch alexandrite is perfect… how did you decide on a cut?? I love both of these setting- they look so nice and solid but not bulky.

@alh56:  thanks so much! Many pieces are from the same artist. I am drawn to a certain aesthetic- I love textured metals. Your teal/blue green sapphire is so gorgeous! I absolutely love the setting, and it looks great against the rubies.

Here’s the full description of all the pieces from that shot, unfortunately I can’t edit my post.

@tulip65:  The Alexandrite is amazing! I’ve been on the fence about getting one, and I think your pictures have convinced me ๐Ÿ™‚

My most recent two gemstone additions to my collection: lab peach sapphire cut by Stag and Finch in Stormlight, in Mokume Gane setting- in Fire color palette and Droplet pattern by Arn Krebs Arts on Etsy. It’s 14k yellow and red gold and sterling silver forged together to create the pattern in the metal, and oxidized.

The second one is a 3mm square purple sapphire set low in a flush bezel in a 3.5 mm Mokume Gane band by Debra Tapain- CustomMokumeGane on Etsy; the ring is 18K yellow, red gold, and sterling silver in a rustic swirl pattern, and oxidized for contrast.

@alh56:  Thank you so much!! I always knew I wanted an Alexandrite ring in rose gold. Bryan at Stag and Finch cuts his own stones. I knew I wanted an 8 mm round, but it was between his stormlight cutting or his Etoile cutting. Of course it boiled down to the stormlight!! Love the different patterns of light I see and the faceting.

@tulip65:  the storm light looks like it was an excellent choice! Ans the alexandrite + rose gold combo is perfection.

@mollyjane79:  thank you for all the details! Your teal sapphire and iolite = ๐Ÿ˜. I also admire how your esthetic is still present in the two additional (and frankly amazing) mokume gane pieces!

@pinkshoes:  The emerald cut tanzanite is so pretty, and I like the side profile a lot!

I have several gemstone rings. The most unusual and most expensive is this one, a Brazilian paraiba tourmaline

by Leon Mege

Then there’s a Mozimbique cuprian tourmaline, also known as paraiba. Paraibas are known for their neon glow. Carat for carat, a good, glowy paraiba from Brazil is more expensive than a colorless diamond, and much more rare.

Next up, natural padparadschas, one heated, one unheated.

Natural sapphire from Kashmir; which I really need to set in a halo:

I have others but these are my favorites.

All of these colored gemstones have been so much fun to relook at again!! I just received a band that I ordered several weeks ago to go with my stag and finch Alexandrite ring. It just came today. So here it is.
