In my search for the perfect colored gemstone feature stone for my FI’s man-gagement ring, I’m falling for natural colored gems of all kinds…. HARD!
I still haven’t found the stone for his ring yet, but here’s what I picked up when I went browsing in a gem shop the other day:
2 jade (nephrite) cabochons (which I’ve already made cufflinks out of for FI)
An agate geode slice pendant, an abalone pendant, a sodalite cabochon, a 16″ string of gorgeous large blue-gold tiger eye cabochons
and so many loose beads (drilled gemstones)!
More tiger’s eye (different kinds), two different sizes of botswana agate cabochons, round beads of garnet, china jade, smoky quartz, denim lapis, and aventurine, round faceted beads of citrine and garnet, pear-shaped faceted amethyst drops and teardrop shaped (3d as opposed to 2d pear) faceted amethyst and citrine drops.
I feel surrounded by pretties! These are all natural stones and all the colors of the rainbow 🙂 They sure blow glass beads out of the water and now all have to be turned into jewelry!
Unfortunately, no stone for Fiance, not even close. It was not a shop that specialized in large precious gems. (sigh…there really aren’t many of those).
