I’ve heard to be careful about rhinestone on your veil because they can sometimes look like black dots in pictures. I woould purchase some cheap material (similar to your veil) and do some test runs. Wear something white and take pictures close up and far away. See what it looks like on film.

I have made pageant dresses for years and seriously you do not want to do this. The last poster is correct your stones will look like black dots in the photos. What you might want to use is AB stones, they will pick up the pink hue and will not photograph dark. When you glue them on use E6000, do not use sew on stones as they will catch everytime they touch the tulle. Good Luck

I’m going to have to disagree with those that say that rhinestones look like black dots in photos. My mom made my veil and she glued swarovski crystal rhinestones all along the edge of my veil in a pattern. As you can see in these pics, they definitely don’t look like black dots 🙂 They look pretty and sparkly! Not sure about pink because I’ve not seen that but I’d imagine it’d be fine.

Swarovski will not appear dark, nor will AB, but colored stones especially brighter or darker pinks, purples, blues and oranges will appear dark in photos. I did a dress that a mother demaded be stoned in all colored stone (I told her this was not going to look great on stage it would be better to mix the colors with AB and crystal) but, in the end I did what she asked and it looked awful both in pictures and on stage.
